The Martial Arts Referee & Rating System was created to give practitioners from all styles and disciplines of the martial arts an opportunity to match their skills against others in a safe and controlled environment. Each tournament is broken down into competitor divisions based on rank, age and gender. Points are awarded to the top competitors in each division. The top 4 points earners in each division will compete in the end of the year finals.

The goal of  MARRS is to make martial arts competition available to everyone regardless of rank, age or style. Because MARRS tournaments are open to all styles and disciplines of martial arts, you will see a fantastic array of weapons and empty hand forms as well as incredible sparring techniques. Tournament competition is great for everyone. It gives you a reason to train harder and more often. Students, Instructors and families alike are encouraged to compete. With your support we can continue to provide safe and organized competition for the people of Iowa.
